Open section: £5 sterling for each poem entered to a maximum of 10 entries. Please enclose a sterling cheque with your entries. (Foreign cheques/currency will not be accepted.) Associate Members of Peterloo Poets are entitled to enter their second poem free of charge, i.e. one free entry for two or more poems. You may become an Associate Member and submit your poems simultaneously (see entry form).
Associate Members receive regular Peterloo updates together with free poetry offers, and may purchase all Peterloo publications at a 35% discount.
15-19 Age Group: £2 sterling for each poem, to a maximum of 10 entries.
RULES OF ENTRY
1. Entries must arrive on or before 1st March 2008. Results will be available
on 1st May 2008.
2. No competitor may submit more than 10 entries. Payment must cover all entries
submitted (see above).
3. Poems may be on any subject or theme and in any style or form but
must not have been previously published. All poems must be typewritten in the
English language, be the unaided work of the competitor, and must not exceed
written 40 lines i.e. not including space between verses. MANUSCRIPTS
CANNOT BE RETURNED.
4. The entry form overleaf should be completed with the competitor’s name,
address, telephone number and the number of poems entered. The titles of the
poems must be listed. The competitor’s name must not appear on the typescript.
5. Copyright remains with the author, but authors of prizewinning poems must
agree to assign first publication rights to Peterloo Poets for inclusion in
the Peterloo Competition Booklet (June 2007, £3.95 post free: cheques
payable to Peterloo Poets).
6. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged ONLY if entries are accompanied by
a stamped self-addressed postcard marked “Receipt.” Individuals
will be notified of the results ONLY if entries are accompanied by a stamped,
self-addressed envelope marked “Results”. Results, and the winning
poem, will be posted on the Peterloo website.
7. The organisers reserve the right to change the panel of judges without notice,
and to withhold payment of any or all prizes if the judges decide that such
withholding is justified. The decision of the judges will be final and the organisers
will not enter into any correspondence thereon.
8. Entries not complying with the rules of the competition will be disqualified,
and the submission of any entry will be deemed to imply the unqualified acceptance
of the rules of entry by the competitor.
